NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the post of Lecturer in the following teaching departments of the University. The designation of the post is subject to change on statute amendment from Lecturer to Assistant Professor.
Appointments to the posts will be made in accordance with Section (6) Sub Section (2) of Chapter II of the Kerala University Act 1974. The turn of appointment as per the principles of rotation is given against each post.

Qualifications

Good Academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at Masters Degree level in the relevent subject from an Indian University or an equivalent Degree from a Foreign University.

Note 1 Candidates besides fulfilling the above qualifications should have cleared the eligibiliy test for Lectureship conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar tests accredited by the UGC. However, the candidates who have Ph.D Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET qualifications.

Note 2 A relaxation of 5% marks at Masters level is allowed to the following categories
1. SC/ST Candidates 2. Ph.D Degree holders who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19.09.1991

Age

Not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2011

Usual relaxation in the upper age limit shall be allowed in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC communities. Relaxation in the upper age limit will also be allowed in the case of persons already in the teaching service of the University and qualified teachers of affiliated colleges and UGC qualified technical staff ( non-teaching) of the University Service who are above the age of 40.

Cost of Application form Rs.150/- and Registration Fee Rs. 250/- (Rs.62.50/- for SC/ST)

The prescribed application form and other details can be downloaded from the link ‘Resources and Downloads’in the Home page of the website of the University (www.keralauniversity.ac.in). Such applications will be entertained only if the candidates have remitted the cost of application form along with the Registration fee.

Mode of remittance:

a) Cost of application form and Registration fee be remitted by DD drawn on State Bank of Travancore / District Co-operative Bank, in favour of “The Finance Officer, University of Kerala” payable at State Bank of Travancore Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram and State Co-operative Bank, Head Office Branch, Thiruvananthapuram respectively. For all the remittances made by DD, an amount of Rs. 10/- should be remitted in addition.

b) Postal Orders, Money Orders, Cheques and DDs from other Banks and DD drawn
on Kariavattom Branch will not be accepted.

c) Candidates residing outside the state may however send DDs drawn on State Bank of India in favour of “The Finance Officr, University of Kerala” payable at State Bank of India, Main Branch, Thiruvananthapuram.

d) Remittance towards the cost of application forms and Registration fee will also be accepted in cash by chalan at the Kerala University Cash Counter, University Buildings, Thiruvananthapuram and also at the Friends Counters (Jana Sevana Kendram).

Completed application along with DD/Chalan for prescribed cost of application form and registration fee, one passport size photograph, attested copies of certificates, testimonials etc. should reach the Deputy Registrar (Admn.III) University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 034 on or before 19th July, 2011.

Candidates who are employed should forward their application through proper channel.

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examinations from Universities other than Kerala University should forward the eligibility certificate obtained from this University alongwith their application.

Note 3 OBC candidates have to produce the certificate that they do not belong to the Creamy Layer as contemplated in G.O(P)No.36/2000.SC/STDD dated 27.05.2000.

Candidates, if required, should appear for interview at Thiruvananthapuram at their own expenses.
